According to AP News, firefighters had to use approximately 50,000 gallons of water to extinguish the flames from a flaming battery after a crash. Such incidents can shape public perception about the safety of electric vehicles, raising questions about their overall viability.

The Better Option

Despite the environmental concerns associated with battery production, electric vehicles remain a better option compared to internal combustion engines. While challenges exist in the current processes of EV battery recycling, ongoing research and technological advancements are paving the way for improvements. As battery recycling technologies evolve, the environmental impact of electric vehicles will further diminish, solidifying their position as a cleaner alternative to traditional gasoline-powered vehicles.
